Michael Dweck (New York, 1957) is a widely internationally recognized artist of photography and a very creative director. After having reached success in the universe of publicity –field in which he was professionally formed–, he focused all his talent in conceptual and documentary photography. The source of his knowledge is enriched by the architecture studies held at the Pratt Institute and in the Communication/Fine Arts department of this institution. This creator’s work with the photographic lens sets the communion between two opposite conceptual speeches. One of them is characterized by the exploitation of this artistic language’s potential as reality’s documentation and record, as well as by a strong influence in the visualization of publicity’s esthetic codes. The other one applies for the shaping of abstract elaborations of reality, centered on the shapes of nature and the human body. In any of these two cases, Michael Dweck’s images seduce the spectator through beauty, as the personification of desire, pleasure, eroticism, joy, and euphoria.
