Elizabet Cerviño (Manzanillo, 1986) is a novel but essential name within our contemporary art scene. Owning an artistic procedure of unobjectionable complacency, Cerviño graduated from the Superior Institute of Arts (ISA) in 2009, and she has been sowing guidelines in the creative space of the Island since then. Her production, which wavers around painting, performance, and ephemeral actions, has a lot to show in terms of the limits that it breaks: it is in middle point between abstraction and figuration, the most encouraging landscape and the most unattainable abyss. Nature, whatever the circumstance, is in the core of the artist’s questions in her creative maelstrom, and it becomes argument and judgment of her production, exergue and epitaph, the solid knot of her concerns. Thus, Elizabet’s name has been present in the list of numerous exhibitions, both collective and personal, where her work has been presented and has shone among the most lionized examples of contemporary Cuban art, as it is on record in the plentiful specialized bibliography that accompanies her already.
