Dreaming of a World of Wonder
Experiences fragmented in images combine with longings and fantasies to make the dream real. A complex space of existence, where one transits through the dark without knowing if we will get the joy or the sleeplessness of some nightmare. Mixture of reality and chimera disrupted by imagination, aren’t dreams the core where the lucidity of reason and the irrational magic of feelings join together? Is art not largely based on these two dimensions? These are the matters condensed on the colorful and fantastic surfaces articulated by Mabel Poblet. Again and again the artist drops a sendal of small figurines on the canvas, which is a sort of dreamlike veil of flowers. Mantle that transpires the fractured female body and print a unique visuality.
The woman looked to the floor and, incredibly, it was heaven under her feet what was scattered. Beautiful horizon discovered from the most personal take. A look that reveals the apparent beauty and instability of the road. A visual angle in the first person that only partially shows the body, precisely that part that defines the steps and sustains the being. Another Wonderland where the rocks are clouds and the paths become windy. Maybe every woman is an Alice growing up in her dreams.
