This landscape, realized with the technique of graphite on canvas, allows us to clearly enjoy all virtuosity López Pardo has as a draftsman, his skilful management of the expressive potency of chiaroscuro, of the complementation between lights and shadows. It is an overwhelming work in which two huts share their solitude, one in front of the other, both witnessing their mutual decadence, and that results impressive, suggestive. This is a gloomy night, when a mysterious ray of light descends and falls on the right center of the composition. A divine ray of light that comes to unveil the being in the remote place where human life seems not to exist, but there they are, both homes, resisting in the darkness, because they are the coal men plant in the world…
